What Is A Digital Transformation?
Digitization, digitalization, and digital transformation are often used interchangeably, but they have distinct meanings :
- Digitization refers to the process of converting analog information into digital format, such as scanning a paper document to create a digital version. This process makes it possible to store, retrieve, and manipulate information in a more efficient and cost-effective way.
- Digitalization, on the other hand, refers to the incorporation of digital technologies into the everyday operations of an organization. This may include using digital tools to automate processes, collect data, or improve communication and collaboration among employees.
- Digital Transformation, takes it a step further, it is the process of using digital technologies to fundamentally change how an organization operates and delivers value to customers. It involves rethinking business models, processes, and organizational structures to take full advantage of the opportunities presented by digitalization.
