Methodology

Design thinking methodology is a problem-solving approach that follows a structured process to understand and empathize with users, define problems, prototype solutions, and test them. It is a cyclical and iterative process that allows for flexibility and adaptability. The five main stages of the design thinking methodology are :

  • Empathize: The first step is to understand the user and their needs, wants, and pain points. This is done through research, such as interviews, surveys, and observations.
  • Define: The next step is to define the problem and create a problem statement. This is done by synthesizing the information gathered during the empathize stage and identifying patterns and insights.
  • Ideate: The third step is to generate ideas for potential solutions. This is done through brainstorming, sketching, and other idea-generation techniques.
  • Prototype: The fourth step is to create a prototype of the solution, which can be a physical model, a digital mock-up, or a simulation. This allows for testing and gathering feedback on the solution.
  • Test: The final step is to test the prototype with users and gather feedback. This allows for iterating on the solution and making improvements.
