Types of Goals
There are three main types of goals that we typically have :
- Process Goals
These goals involve the execution of plans. For example, If your goal is to be healthier, going to the gym every morning the morning or taking health supplements on time, and repeating the same action every day is a process goal. The focus is to form a habit that supports your set goal.
- Performance Goals
These goals help to track progress, by quantifying them. This magic number/measure will motivate you to continue your effort. For example, studying for no less than 6 hours a day or working out for at least 30 minutes per day can help you quantify your efforts and measure your progress.
- Outcome Goals
This involves the successful implementation of combining process and performance goals. They help us to stay focused on the bigger picture/end goal. Examples of outcome goals may include getting a dream job, or stopping a negative habit.
